Central park Reservoir at sunset, or finding some peace in NYC (take 1)

Anyone coming for the first time to Manhattan caught themselves finding it to be “too much” one way or another. No matter how sophisticated and well traveled they are. Myself, having grown up in Paris and now living in Boston, when I peak out of Penn station or emerge from the Midtown tunnel in a yellow cab, or at some point in my NYC day, I feel like I’m not sure what to do with all the city’s energy. Sometimes it lifts me up, sometimes it drains me. But for sure it is just “a lot”.

As I spent most of the summer there I was looking for some spots to relax and find a bit of nature in the city. One obvious place is Central Park. So here are a few shots from a sunset stroll around the Reservoir. Quite stunning views, and an interesting mix of water, greenery, and skyscrapers. I will follow with more posts, including pictures featuring both geese and the Empire State building in the same snapshot! Just wait and see. And know that you can find places to chill in NYC.

For reference, I walked from 86th st on the UWS to the UES, then going North, West and then South!
